YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND
Jerry Marx will be honoring his deceased mother, Jean Analora Marx, born February 6, 1914 and passed December 10, 1996, with a Catholic Mass at 3:00pm, Sunday, May 15th. After Mass, Jerry will be burying his mother's ashes in the Ola Cemetery. For those of you that would like to attend the Catholic Mass in the Ola Church, you are welcomed.
IT WAS A GOOD MEETING!
The meeting with the County Commissioner's last night was well attended. Along with Lan, Michele, Sharon and Shelly, Chuck Rolland, Gem County Sheriff came up to see how the Ola community was doing. We discussed a wide array of topics, from property taxes, county courthouse changes, lumber mill closure, school district levy, to the Sweet-Ola Highway resurfacing and much more. It's always nice to see these meeting so well attended, not only is it worth the Commissioners time but it's good to see so many residents interested in what's going on in their backyard. OLLIE the "FREE SPIRIT"
It seems Ollie just wasn't meant to be pampered. He's a working dog and has a job to do and that's watching Carlock's calves. Ollie's back on the hillside doing his job. He will continue to be fed by Mike but for the time being he's working, only difference he's got a 10 foot lead attached to him, something he took with when he left Samson's. He is a free spirit and I guess we should respect him for that. He's not a threat, his job is to protect.

A THANK YOU FROM THE HSB FFA
The Horseshoe Bend FFA recently embarked on a trip loading up late Wednesday afternoon the FFA answered the call to the Idaho State FFA Leadership Conference, This little chapter didn’t take a bus like normal chapters do, but instead one of the many faithful “FFA MOMS” drove us down. We learned many things took many classes for example; Where the wild things are or don’t freak just public speak, and many more, we could not have done it without all of your help, with purchasing pig raffle tickets. Many thanks from the Horseshoe Bend FFA.

ATTENTION RANCHERS!
One of the things that was brought up at the "missing" cattle meeting was that some people don't know what their neighbors rigs (pickup and stock trailers) look like. If you could take a picture of your main truck and stock trailer, print your name on it, drop it off at the Ola Inn. The Ola Inn will have the pics available to verify that the rig you see is suppose to be up here. If you have any questions, call Tom B.

I would like to thank the Ola Ladies Club, the Ola community, Ken Rutherford and Simplot Livestock Company for their hospitality on our last meeting. It was greatly appreciated! Also to the Trappers, Greg & Doug Hansen, to the WSI staff, Dr. Fredrickson and Ric Clay, the Sheriff's departments from Gem, Washington, Payette and Valley counties, the Brand Department, represented by Larry Hayhurst and Lynn Gibson, the Governor's office, the Idaho Cattlemen, Forest Service law personnel, Farm Bureau and Gem County Commissioner Sharon Pratt and others who attended. To the ranchers and neighbors, who will be our keen observers. Community effort and cooperation is what makes meetings possible and successful.

Judging by the huge turnout, our ranchers and their cattle are a big concern for everyone. Ranchers and non-ranchers turned out Friday for the meeting addressing concerns of the large amount of missing cattle. Several government agencies were represented. Although they work hard to prevent cattle theft, we, as residents can help just by being observant and reporting anything that doesn't belong or fit into normal activity. A huge thank you to Tom Blessinger for taking the "bull by the horns" and putting this all together. As always, the ladies of Ola were perfect hostesses by providing refreshments.
