JUST SO YOU KNOW...
REMINDER: Seal coat on State St from Glenwood west starts Monday -A seal coat will be applied on State Street (Idaho 44) starting just after the morning commute on Monday (June 27). It is the first of several seal coats on roadway surfaces throughout the southwest Idaho region this summer. The seal coat will extend the life of the roadway and provide greater traction for motorists. The seal coat on State Street will begin just west of the Glenwood intersection and proceed west 2.3 miles to the junction with Idaho 55 where the road cuts off north toward McCall. Weather permitting, the work will only take about three or four days. The contractor will then move up Idaho 55 to the Shadow Valley Golf Course and work back south to the Idaho 44 junction. Weather permitting, this will take another four to five days. Work on Horseshoe Bend Hill will follow. Speed limits will be reduced. Traffic will be controlled by lane closures, lane restrictions or pilot cars. Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes. A 14-mile seal coat is also planned on Idaho 55, between Zachary Road in McCall and Boulder Creek Bridge in Donnelly in mid-July.

OLA ROUGH RIDERS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
We are having our community service project on Wednesday, June 22nd. We will be meeting at the hall at 10:30a.m. It would be very helpful and appreciated of the parents who could be there to help guide the kids in this project. These are the areas in which we will be working : Library sign; the Hall sign; library & school; cemetary; church sign; Post Office; Ola Inn. The kids will be doing hanging baskets and flower containers, there is a total of 4 containers and hanging baskets ( so far). We will need someone to haul dirt to put around the library sign. Also if you can help your kids to gather rocks ( between 6 - 12 inches) to go around the library sign that would be very helpful.
Please call Diane @ 584-3734 or Geri @ 584- 3682 to sign up in the area you would like to help with, or for any questions.

WHO KNEW?
Who knew that laundry could be so much fun! Saturday afternoon, the Ola Ladies Club held their annual June luncheon. The program this year was "Laundry". Members of the Ola Ladies Club brought several types of laundry related items, washboards, wringer washing machines, old irons and ironing boards. Norma, Pat, Barb, Joyce and Joanie each read some history on laundry and funny stories were exchanged amongst the ladies from Sweet, Horseshoe Bend, Garden Valley and Ola. Stories from goats pulling down the sheets from the clothes line to fingers and hands getting caught in the wringers, each story bringing back memories for the next person. It was a nice luncheon with great food and company, all of us leaving thankful that "Laundry" has evolved as much as it has.

OLA HAS OUTSTANDING MUSICAL TALENT
Last nights concert provided us with a wonderful variety of musical talents. With proud parents and an equally proud teacher looking on, we were blessed with the sounds of piano, flute, guitar and singing from Gloria's students. A special performance by Tia playing the violin and ending the concert with a spectacular piece on the piano, Tia was rewarded with a standing ovation. It was apparent by the quality of the performances that Gloria's students take their music lessons very seriously. Keep up the great work and we look forward to next year's "Spring Concert"! Thank you Gloria!

JUST 99 CENTS!!
The Gardening Angel in Emmett has their tomato plants for 99 cents. I was out there yesterday and they have all sizes and kinds. A terrific selection! Can't beat the price!
REMINDER TO RANCHERS!!
Don't forget to take and turn in, to the Ola Inn, a picture of your pickup and trailer. Also, when you drop off your picture there will be a roll of illuminating tape, donated by Dave Merritt, tear off 2-6 inch pieces, place one piece on the left front bumper of your pickup and the other on the left side of the tailgate of your trailer. This to identify that you are local and suppose to be up in the Ola area.
