The Ola Rough Striders met Saturday, March 5 at the Ola Inn. We were excited to have 18 people come to learn more about our team for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Joyce Miller discussed the impact of cancer in Ola and many had personal stories to share of how cancer is affecting their lives. Dora Miller shared some of her experiences at last year’s Relay for Life. The Relay for Life is essentially a fund raiser and the suggested goal for each team is $1000. We brainstormed together for ways our team will raise money and ideas included a 4th of July picnic, a dance, a Play Day in High Valley and a Historical Tour on 4x4’s.

We will have a sale table at the Sweet Syringa Club Hall on March 25th and 26th in Sweet, and are accepting donations for sale. If you would like to donate to our team, you may do so by going to the Relay for Life of Gem County website and clicking on the Donate button.
