STATE BURN PERMITS NEEDED EFFECTIVE MAY 10
BOISE, IDAHO – Effective May 10, the Idaho Department of Lands will require those planning on conducting burning in non-urban areas to have a burn permit.
Burn permits are available by contacting the SW Idaho Department of Lands at 208-334-3488. The permits can be issued through a web based program, but the office needs to be contacted prior to issuance.
The Boise National Forest no longer issues resident burn permits.
Permits are not required for recreational campfires.
Debris burning is a common cause of escaped fires. Residents are encouraged to learn more about burning safely. Brochures are available at agencies offices.
