EAGLE, Idaho -- One person is dead after the unidentified driver of a vehicle struck a horse on Idaho State Highway 16 near the Firebird Raceway Monday morning.
The deadly crash happened just after 5 a.m.
KTVB Photojournalist Eric Turner reports another unidentified vehicle came upon the scene moments later and hit the same horse.
Ada County Sheriff's Deputies say the second vehicle veered off the highway and rolled. We're told the occupants walked away without injury.
Law enforcement officials have closed down that portion of the highway. A detour is available for drivers via a nearby dirt road.
The highway is expected to be closed for the next few hours.
