MOTHER NATURE...

...shows her strength again Monday night. With winds upwards to 66 mph, Mother Nature left the Ola Valley without power, several broken down trees and hay scattered to the next door neighbors field. Nesbitt Lane seems to have taken the brunt of the storm, with broken down trees blocking the Lane and trees damaging a tack shed and a pickup. Power was restored just before noon on Tuesday and no injuries reported.

A GREAT SENDOFF FOR BEAR...

The gathering at the Ola Hall to celebrate Bear's life was attended by well over 200 of Bear's friends and family. The Ola Ladies Club took care of all the preparations, and many friends and neighbors brought a wide variety of good things to eat. Ellen memorialized Bear in a loving way that we could all relate to, allowing each of us to remember him in our own way.

Ellen remarked that Bear always said, "It's not a party without balloons". In recognition of this, Ellen had 71 helium balloons for the family to release in Bear's honor. After the meal, we all went outside to watch Ellen and her family release the balloons. It was a touching conclusion to a wonderful get together.

We will miss you, Bear.
