BLOOD DRIVE AT THE OLA HALL

Even with all of the fire chaos, Ola residents and firefighters took time to give blood.

MANY THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!!

Back at it at the crack of dawn, Our firefighters are working with BLM putting out "hot spots" and providing a water source. Our volunteers are the best! With little to no sleep, they are making sure that this fire won't flare up and cause any more damage to your property. Thank you!!

HELP YOUR COMMUNITY!!

Classes for anyone wishing to train to become an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) are being planned.  Training will be conducted by instructors from the Emmett Fire Dept. EMS personnel.  The instructors will host an initial meeting to explain the programs and answer questions.  If you are interested, please contact Rick Barber at 963-1507 or e-mail red.mist.222@gmail.com.
Training will require a commitment of both time and money.  About 80 hours of class time will be required for the EMR training and 160 hours for the EMT training.  Costs are abut $600 and $1,200 respectively.  Training will be held once or twice a week (one evening and occasionally on a Saturday) at either the Ola or Sweet fire stations.

If we can get some people trained, we can get an ambulance assigned to the Ola Fire Station and our community will be able to get much faster response times for any medical emergencies we might have.

HAM RADIO OPERATOR

Larry Fiorintino (N7AAF) and Rick Barber (W7OLA) will be conducting classes for anyone desiring to become a Ham Radio operator.  Starting date has not been determined but it will be after deer and elk hunting seasons.  The course is free but a modest fee will be required to purchase books and training materials.
Classes will be held for about 2 hours per night, once a week, probably at the Ola fire station.  To sign up, please call Rick at 963-1507 or e-mail red.mist.222@gmail.com
Don't know what the "Burning Man" is?  Check out this documentary.  The gathering that is happening outside of Ola is more or less persons that want to plan and critique 2015's gathering in Nevada.  It still could bring a large crowd.  This is what I understand at this point.

CHECK OUT WHAT'S COMING TO OLA

Mid-October the Idaho Decomp gathering for the Burning Man is going to be held on property outside of Ola.  This gathering will be on Ron Murray's place off High Valley Road.  Check out the website HERE.
