A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

A Birthday Celebration
60+ years ago I arrived at the old Mercy hospital in Nampa, that occasion happened in June. Two years ago on August 25th I experienced a new birth. I was born into the Body Of Christ with a guaranteed birthright of spending eternity with Him and our Heavenly Father.
The simple act of baptism changed my destiny. Even though I answered the invitation to accept Jesus as my Savior in 2008, August 25, 2013 was when I became a new person.
I am inviting everyone to join me in celebrating my birthday on Sunday August 23 with cake and ice cream at the Ola Inn from 1:00 P.M. until whenever.
Carrie Underwood released a song this year,"There Must Be Something In the Water". I believe there is.

2016 OLA CALENDAR NEEDS PICTURES

Time is getting short to get pictures for the 2016 Ola calendar and I hope everyone has been taking some great pictures. I am going to try to put the calendar to bed so I can get it to the printer on Sunday, August 16,2016. Please email me any pictures you have so we can get this project underway this week. I thank all of you in advance as I know I can count on you to send some great Ola Country pictures. If there are any High Valley pictures they would be happily accepted. We can not use prints, unfortunately, because they just don't' pixilate (spelling?) correctly. Digital is the best. My email is gsutton44@hotmail.com. If you want to submit your pictures on a thumb drive or a CD that would be fine, too.
Thank you,
Ola Ladies Club

Tuesday, August 4

The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for most of Gem County. The area includes the lower valley to the Ada/Canyon County Lines and the all of Squaw Butte. This DOES NOT include areas above Ola.

A weather system is expected this evening that may include strong winds and lightning, making the potential for a wildfire possible. This will likely effect our fire danger rating.

THIS IS THE INFORMATION ON THE CRASH THAT BLOCKED 52 FOR AWHILE THIS AFTERNOON
IDAHO STATE POLICE NEWS RELEASE
District 3 Patrol 700 S. Stratford Dr., Meridian 83642
For Immediate Release: 8/1/2015 10:16 p.m.
Please direct questions to the District Office
On Saturday, August 1, 2015, at approximately 2:33 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash northbound on SH-52 at milepost 43, 13 miles north of Emmett.
Ronald Morgenthaler, 66, of Weiser, was northbound on SH-52 in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with two pallets of salt blocks on the flatbed. Both pallets of salt blocks were covered with shrink wrap and were tied down. Jaeson Atwood, 25, of Nampa, was southbound on SH-52 in a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup. As Morgenthaler was negotiating a curve at milepost 43, the shrink wrap on one of the pallets became loose, causing multiple salt blocks to fall off the pickup. Atwood was negotiating that curve at the same time. One of the salt blocks went through the passenger side of the windshield on the Dodge Ram. The salt block struck the front seat passenger, Donald Moala, 26, of Nampa, in the left shoulder, and continued through the truck, striking a 5-year-old child in the backseat in the head, before going out the back window.
All occupants involved were wearing their seatbelts. Both Moala and the juvenile passenger were transported to Valor Health in Emmett by ground ambulance. The juvenile was later transported to the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance. The road was blocked for approximately 2.5 hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
