RAISING MONEY FOR A GREAT CAUSE CAN BE SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Saturday, a group of 20 ATV's left the Ola Hall at 1:30 headed for High Valley.  The riders were going on this ATV trip as a fundraiser for the Relay For Life/American Cancer Society.  The ride took us through some beautiful country, across private ground that many of us don't have access to. The sights and smells were glorious.  We arrived at the Sutton cabin about 4:00 to greet friends that decided to take the short cut(straight up High Valley Road).  After cleaning up a bit, we were served a delicious picnic lunch.  About 40 people enjoyed this nice Sunday afternoon and helped raise an additional $400.00 for the Ola Rough Striders-Relay For Life team.  All the proceeds go to the Relay For Life/American Cancer Society.  Thanks much to Gloria and Shannon F., Chris and Sharon, and to the people that donated.

Ola Inn Re-Roof Fundraiser a success...

The Ola Inn Re-roof fundraiser was a lot of fun. The project was conceived and organized by Nathan McClure and his friends. Many of your neighbors contributed their time, talents and money to help make this event a success. At the risk of omitting someone, I’ll not try to name individuals, but the community thanks you all for your efforts.
John & Tracy prepared some great pulled pork barbecue and beans, and several of our neighbors contributed delicious home made desserts. There was plenty of beer and soda on hand to quench the thirst of the attendees. Many individuals and area businesses contributed items for the silent auction, and lots of folks went home with some really good deals and interesting treasures.
Scott Webb’s band provided the music, and the dancing never stopped as the evening progressed. The band had such a good time that they said they’d like to come back up and do it again. Sounds like fun to me!

FREE CAR SEAT PROGRAM

Car seats are one of the most expensive baby items for parents, but they are also one of the most important. Idaho requires that all infants and toddlers be restrained in a car seat when they ride in any vehicle. If you can not afford to pay for a car seat, contact WICAP at 365-3116 or Sue at Walter Knox Memorial Hospital 365-3561.

D + D + D = DELIGHTFUL

Dinner, dunking and dancing, made up a delightful Independence Day celebration on Saturday.  The holiday weekend and warm weather were perfect for everyone getting together for this fundraising event.  The Ola Rough Striders, Ola's Relay For Life team, benefiting the American Cancer Society hosted a fun filled evening of dinner, games, dancing and fireworks.  With the very warm temperatures, the dunking booth was a favorite for kids of all ages.  The Sock Hop of 50's music brought people out on the dance floor dancing like they were teenagers again.  Many thanks to the sponsors, the Ola Rough Striders' members that worked so hard to put this together and to the people that attended for your generous donations. Hopefully, this will be an annual event!**To view more pics, click above to the Independence Day Picnic-Relay For Life.
